Biography
Dr. Abbas Beheshti Askari is Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Ecolation. He leads the scientific development of the company’s mineralised cellulose material—from reproducible synthesis and characterisation to proof-of-principle and prototype development.
His background spans materials science, catalysis and inorganic-material synthesis. During his doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion, he worked on heterogeneous catalyst systems and used advanced characterisation to connect material structure, composition and performance.
Before Ecolation, Abbas contributed to industrial catalyst development at BASF and to functional-material research at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. At Ecolation, he defines the scientific roadmap and ensures that development decisions are grounded in robust, application-relevant evidence.
